Andy Cook bolsters squad for new season
With preparations starting to take place for the new WSL season, Oxford have boosted their squad with the highly rated midfield player Dan Carlton from newly promoted Tottenham Hotspurs Ladies.
Dan brings a wealth of experience to the team having played a key role in Yeovil’s WSL2 winning campaign at the end of the 2017 season.
Dan, who put pen to paper yesterday afternoon, told us ‘I’m really excited, I haven’t played football for a while now so I’m just buzzing to get into pre-season and get to know all the girls properly and Andy. I want to play as many minutes as possible this year and hopefully get some goals too! I’m looking forward to getting that playing feeling back, getting some points on the board and just getting off to a good start to the season’
When asked what attracted Dan to the club, she commented ‘The biggest thing that attracted me to the club is that it is going somewhere, the club has a well thought out plan which I think is definitely achievable and that attracted me massively’
Andy Cooks thoughts "Dan is a player we have tracked since I started here Oxford. She's got a track record of playing in successful teams and her qualities on the pitch will not only help us but will bring out the best in the younger players of our squad. Having spoken at length with Dan we both know what we need to do to bring success to Oxford. I'm really pleased to get this signing finalised and it's just the start of things to come for us this season.’
Carlton is Andy Cooks first brand new signing ahead of the season, keep posted to see who else he brings into his squad.
