New Assistant Head Coach Appointed
Chris Cone steps up as First Team Assistant Head Coach
Chris Cone has been appointed Oxford United Women's new Assistant Head Coach for the 2017-18 season. Chris joined the WSL backroom staff ahead of the Spring Series, as the Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Chris, a UEFA 'B' qualified coach, brings a wealth of experience to Andy Cook's new look backroom team. With previous spells at Bristol Rovers FC and Bristol City WFC, Chris currently works as Lead Academy Strength & Conditioning coach for Hartpury College Football programme.
With the commitment and dedication Chris has shown over the Spring Series Oxford United Women's General Manager, Ruth Senior, felt he would be the perfect candidate for the role.
"We are delighted to appoint Chris as our new Assistant Head coach. Chris has played an integral part of helping us create a competitive environment and a team culture that looks to breed success. Our WSL strength and conditioning department has improved significantly under Chris' guiding hand and I look forward to seeing what his partnership with Andy will create."
Chris Cone told us "I am really looking forward to further supporting Andy and the team in this new role. We've had a really good pre-season and The players have been working really hard. We can't wait to get the season underway later this month."
