Donovan selected for World University Games
Emily Donovan receives a call up to represent team GB Women's Football at the World University Games.
First team player, Emily Donovan, has been selected to represent team Women’s GB Football to compete in the World University Games.
The tournament will take place from Saturday, 19th August to Thursday, 31st August in Chinese Taipei.
A squad of 20 players from different universities have been selected to represent Team GB at this year’s World University Games.
The World University Games, also called the Universiade, is the second-largest multi-sport event after the Olympics, and will take place in Chinese Taipei this year between the 19th-30th of August. The event is held biennially in major cities across the globe and sees over 10,000 athletes from over 170 countries come together to compete across 22 different sports.
Emily told us ‘I'm really excited to be heading out to the World University Games in Taipei, and I'm grateful to Ruth, Andy and everyone at Oxford for their support. I can't wait to embrace this opportunity, and I hope the experience I gain will prove invaluable in my footballing journey."
